International Exchange to Portugal
Sharing knowledge
Building the capacity of our team and empowering them with the experience and capabilities to lead Príncipe towards a more sustainable and prosperous future is at the heart of what we do. We therefore welcome every opportunity to learn from our partners and their experience dealing with problems very similar to our own. One such opportunity recently presented itself in the form of an exchange program with SPEA and Birldlife International, through which two of our terrestrial team technicians will, over the coming weeks, visit the Azores and continental Portugal.
From the Azores and mainland Portugal to Príncipe
The program aims to promote the exchange of experiences relating to nature conservation, ecological restoration and the study and control of invasive species, allowing our technicians to gain field experience and leverage lessons learnt in future work on Príncipe island. Specifically, our team will participate SPEA’s work with the Cory's shearwater (Calonectris borealis) in the Azores, conduct field visits to ecosystem restoration sites, and learn how to monitor and control invasive flora and fauna.
