FUNDAÇÃO PRÍNCIPE IS LOOKING FOR A PROJECT MANAGER TO SUPPORT THE DEVELOPMENT AND MANAGEMENT OF OUR TERRESTRIAL CONSERVATION PROJECTS.
FUNDAÇÃO PRÍNCIPE
Fundação Príncipe (FP) promotes sustainable development and biodiversity conservation through projects that strongly focus on supporting the local community and building local capacity. FP's projects focus on establishing and strengthening protected areas (marine and terrestrial), researching the unique fauna and flora of the island, promoting community livelihood, ecotourism and environmental sustainability.
Engaging communities is essential to the success of our projects and ensuring that they are the ones getting the most out of protecting the island's biodiversity. We believe that conservation has to be done with and for the people.
THE OPPORTUNITY
We are looking for qualified candidates to join the FP team, working closely with the Birdlife International (BLI) team at the regional and national level. An important component of the role will be to support the "Enhancing Biodiversity Conservation and Sustainable Management of Land and Natural Resources" project, funded by UNDP and GEF. This role is expected to contribute to the development and management of the project, with the aim of safeguarding globally significant terrestrial biodiversity and associated ecosystem services.
This position will contribute to island-wide conservation activities, particularly with regard to the management of protected land areas, in close collaboration with the regional and national government. It will support conservation capacity building for local groups and implement other aspects of the FP conservation strategy, with a primary focus on ecological project design and data management.
MAIN REQUIREMENTS
This position is ideal for someone with experience in terrestrial ecology and biodiversity conservation and associated sustainable livelihoods. A degree or equivalent level qualification in a relevant field and some experience in a similar role and work situation is expected. Experience in conservation fundraising would be an advantage.
